He certainly does a better job than I would have. However, in my experience with other fields in mathematics, notation is frequently very confusing at first. It deals only with the object-subject relation. The field has grown so much in the last decade that one could essentially write several textbooks on the subject. As a mathematics student who has tried a few times to learn something about quantum physics and failed , I agree that the Dirac notation is confusing at first. From now on, there would be a single place where everyone could go to learn the quantum canon. I continue to work hard at the piano, particularly Beethoven and Mozart. The book is intended primarily for computer scientists who know nothing about quantum theory, but will also be of interest to physicists who want to learn the theory of quantum computation, and philosophers of science interested in quantum foundational issues.
